What is a Freezbone dog toy?

A Freezbone is a refillable rubber dog toy designed to hold food. Depending on the shape, a dog may lick, chew around, brace or carry it while working at the filling.

You can serve it freshly filled or freeze a suitable mixture inside. Freezing makes the filling firmer and usually increases the amount of work needed to reach it, but there is no fixed occupation time that applies to every dog. How to fill and freeze a Freezbone

Start simply, especially if your dog has never used this shape before.

1. Wash and inspect the toy.
2. Add food your dog already knows and tolerates.
3. Leave part of the filling easy to reach for the first session.
4. Serve it fresh, or freeze it for at least two hours until the filling is set.
5. Place it on a washable surface and supervise your dog.
6. Remove it when the food is gone or if your dog starts chewing the rubber.
7. Wash it thoroughly and allow it to dry before refilling.

You do not need a complicated recipe. Wet food, soaked kibble or another suitable part of your dog's usual meal is enough. If you add extras, include them in the dog's daily food intake.

Freezbone safety and care

Choose a size and shape that are appropriate for your dog. A toy should not fit entirely inside the mouth or present a swallowing risk.

Inspect the rubber before and after every use. Stop using the toy if it becomes loose, cracked, torn or otherwise damaged. Supervise particularly closely during the first few sessions, when you are still learning whether your dog licks the toy or tries to chew through it.

Follow the care instructions for the exact model. Clean every groove and cavity after food use, especially when using wet food, dairy products or other soft mixtures. Let the toy dry completely before storing it.
