Dog scarves for cooler walks

A dog scarf adds a little warmth around the neck and a clear hit of colour when the weather turns. The Mica dog scarves in this collection come in mustard, beige and green tartan, with sizes S, M and L for different neck measurements. The shape is neat and practical: one end passes through an opening at the front, so there is no knot to tie and no long loose end.

These scarves are designed to sit comfortably around the neck while allowing normal movement. They are decorative cold-weather accessories, not collars, and should never be used for lead attachment.

Choose the right scarf size

Measure around your dog’s neck where the scarf will sit, then compare the measurement with the product size guide. The current Mica sizing is:

  • Small: neck 25–36 cm, scarf width 8 cm
  • Medium: neck 35–46 cm, scarf width 10 cm
  • Large: neck 45–56 cm, scarf width 12 cm

The ranges overlap, so the best choice also depends on coat thickness and how much coverage you prefer. If your dog has a full coat or sits near the upper end of a size, compare the measurements carefully rather than choosing by breed.

How the crossover design works

Wrap the scarf around the neck, pass one end through the front opening and adjust it so the fabric lies flat. The crossover holds the shape without a separate fastening. Check that it is secure but not tight, and that your dog can move, breathe and lower their head comfortably.

Supervise wear and remove the scarf for rough play, sleep or unsupervised time. A neck accessory can catch on branches, furniture or another dog during energetic play, even when it fits correctly.

Tartan without the full winter wardrobe

Mustard tartan brings warmer colour, beige keeps the look neutral, and green offers a classic cold-weather palette. Pair the scarf with simple walking equipment or let the tartan do the entire job. For lighter neck accessories, browse our dog bandanas, or see all decorative pieces in Wear & Style.

Questions about dog scarves

How do I measure my dog for a scarf?

Measure around the neck where the scarf will sit, keeping the tape comfortably close without pulling it tight. Compare the result with the exact size range on the product page.

How does the Mica dog scarf fasten?

One end passes through an opening at the front to create a crossover. It does not need a knot or separate clip.

Can I attach a lead to a dog scarf?

No. A scarf is a decorative accessory and is not designed for restraint. Attach the lead only to suitable, properly fitted walking equipment.

Can my dog wear a scarf indoors?

Only when supervised and comfortable. Remove it if your dog becomes warm, tries to chew it or shows any sign of discomfort, and take it off before sleep.

Is a dog scarf suitable for rough play?

No. Remove scarves and other loose neck accessories before rough play, especially around other dogs or places where fabric could snag.

How should I choose between two overlapping sizes?

Consider the neck measurement, coat thickness and preferred coverage. Check the product dimensions and choose a fit that lies neatly without tightening or restricting movement.
