Iron-on Patches
Iron-on patches for dog accessories and dog people
These iron-on patches turn a plain fabric accessory into a useful character reference. The Scout’s Honour merit badges cover the important qualifications: Sock Thief, Gentle Giant, Foodie, Velcro Dog, Fetch Fanatic and several other truths that are difficult to fit on a name tag. Each patch measures approximately 50 × 50 mm and comes with application instructions.
The patches are made to decorate suitable fabric items such as dog bandanas, jackets, harnesses, tote bags, pillows and blankets. They are not applied directly to your dog, despite some candidates being very committed to the badge.
Choose the badge that fits
- For food-motivated professionals: Always Hungry, Foodie, Tricks for Treats and Will Sit For Snacks state the terms clearly.
- For recognisable habits: Sock Thief, Fetch Fanatic and Wiggle Butt require very little explanation.
- For temperament and personality: Gentle Giant, Tiny but Mighty, Best Buddy and Velcro Dog make good introductions.
- For milestones and identity: Puppy School Grad and Rescue add a more personal note to a jacket, blanket or dog bandana.
How to use an iron-on patch safely
First check that the item can safely be ironed and that its surface is suitable for patch application. Remove the bandana, jacket or harness from your dog before starting. Follow the temperature, timing and pressing instructions supplied with the patch, then allow the item to cool completely before use.
Do not iron directly onto your dog or onto an item while they are wearing it. Avoid covering buckles, adjustment points, reflective details, ventilation panels or any part that needs to flex. If the base item has its own care label, follow that too. When heat is not suitable for the fabric, choose a different item rather than improvising.
Small patch, very specific biography
A good patch makes everyday dog gear feel personal without adding bulk or changing how it fits. Use one as a single statement or build a small set on a tote or blanket. For more colour around the neck, browse Wear & Style.
Questions about iron-on dog patches
Where can I put an iron-on patch?
The patches can be used on suitable iron-safe fabric items, including some bandanas, jackets, harnesses, bags, pillows and blankets. Check the base item’s material and care label before application.
Can I iron a patch onto every dog bandana?
No. Fabrics and decorations respond differently to heat. Confirm that the bandana can be ironed and follow both the bandana care guidance and the patch instructions.
How large are the patches?
Each Scout’s Honour merit badge is approximately 50 × 50 mm. Check the available flat area on the item before choosing a position.
Do I need to sew the patch on?
The patches are designed for iron-on application, so sewing is not required when the instructions are followed on a suitable fabric.
Can I apply the patch while my dog is wearing the item?
No. Always remove the item first and keep your dog away from the hot iron and heated fabric. Let everything cool fully before the item is worn again.
How do I wash an item after adding a patch?
Follow the supplied patch instructions and the care label of the decorated item. Use the gentler requirement when the two differ, and check that the edges remain secure before your dog wears it.
